Reduction & Safety Assurance - Tony
Garr
The purpose
of the Waste Reduction and Safety Implementation Work Group is to
help Tennessee do its part in saving 1/2 trillion dollars over the
next 10 years in Medicare and TennCare. The group will do this by
familiarizing themselves with what the ACA has to say about these
issues and how itcan work to implement measures that actually reduce
waste and increase patient safety across the state. The group will
accomplish this through collaborative means with health care service
providers, administrators, and health care consumers. It will look
for and foster local leadership, research and promote ways to change
financial incentives to improve care, recognize the gathering of
data as an important tool for measuring improvement (not an end
in itself), and engage our communities in our work through whatever
means feasible.
