Principles

We believe that in 2011 the Tennessee General Assembly’s priorities for the people of the state should be creating quality jobs, boosting the economy, and generating revenue for our invaluable public services.

We believe in freedom, equality, justice, opportunity, prosperity, and security for all Tennesseans, not just the select few.

We believe in the necessity of a government that is efficient, effective, transparent and accountable to all Tennesseans. We believe only personal participation in government can ensure its efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and accountability.

We believe that those elected to public office must serve the public good and must be held to the highest standards of public ethics while doing so.

We believe that ethical business practices and responsible corporate governance will lead to opportunity, broad prosperity and a better future for all Tennesseans.

We believe in unencumbered access to the ballot box.We believe that Tennessee is best served when a marketplace of diverse people, ideas, beliefs and participation is cultivated and allowed to flourish.

We believe that all Tennesseans should have access to a quality education and those we entrust with teaching our children should be valued and rewarded appropriately.

We believe that a responsible, even-handed balance must be struck between future growth and the preservation and enhancement of Tennessee's natural beauty, resources and environmental heritage.

We believe that each of us has a role to play in creating Tennessee’s future. We are responsible for that future.
