The
Tennessee Health Care Campaign has used the power of storytelling
with positive results for years. The issue of consumer health care
is complex and often chalked full of dry facts and figures. Yet
there is nothing more human than one’s state of existence,
which includes one’s state of health .
THCC has been reminding the public, policy makers, and media of
this and, in turn, positively improving people’s lives through
stories that put faces with facts and names with numbers.
In order for
us to improve our broken health care system, it is important for
the public to have a deeper and more personal understanding of the
medical, emotional, and financial tragedies individuals and families
face as a result of being without health care. With 1 in 3 Tenneseans
struggling with accessing and affording health care at any time
during the year, we know there are many stories to tell. If one
of these stories is yours, we want to hear from you.
Hearing real
voices will result in real improvements, but these voices will not
be heard unless the Tennessee Health Care Campaign is able to find
them. By speaking out, the uninsured, under-insured, and the medically
fragile can help those who aren't in these situations better undertand
the medical, emotional, and financial burdens too many are facing.
For those who
are healthy and insured yet believe health care is a human necessity,
you have a story to tell, too. If you are committed to health care
justice and reform, tell us why.
THCC uses stories
to change hearts and minds by delivering them the media, public,
and policy makers. However, we never use your story without your
permission. By submitting your story today, it goes only to a staff
person of THCC--it will not appear on our website or elsewhere until
we talk with you.
