TennCare is Tennessee’s Medicaid program, and it is the most
vital health care safety net in the state. TennCare provides health
security to low-income children, pregnant woman, and disabled Tennesseans,
with incomes up to 100%, 133% or 185% of the federal poverty level
(depending upon age). The Bureau of TennCare reports that 1.2 million
adults and children are on the program.

Apply for TennCare: Medicaid eligibility categories were originally
developed in the early 1970's and are essentially the same today.
Generally, a person has to meet all three of the following categories:
1. He/she has to be poor; 2. He/she can have very few resources;
and 3. He/she must be either be elderly or disabled, or blind, or
